Individual therapy for individual adults in Chesterfield, VA

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Chesterfield, Virginia offering in-person individual therapy for adults. Areas I enjoy working with complex trauma/C-PTSD related to sexual trauma, relationship trauma, adoptive parent(s) related grief or trauma, attachment wounds, infidelity or fertility-related grief.

I am an IFS therapist (Level II) and use this pretty exclusively throughout our work. This model is permission driven + non-pathologizing. Those that my approach best align with are those hoping to take a much deeper, more intentional and slower approach with their therapy journey. During our one-on-one therapy sessions, I prioritize your autonomy. My role is to create a safe environment where your parts are supported and respected. I will always be mindful of your comfort levels and won't pressure you to go beyond them.

I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling and completed my post-Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. I’ve been in the mental health field for over 18 years, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Virginia Board of Counseling in 2020. In 2022, I became a Board approved Clinical Supervisor for LPC and LMFT Residents, and in 2023 became a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I am an IFS Level II Therapist (Level I 2024, Level II 2025). In 2023, I became EMDR trained, and currently I’m in consultation towards certification (please note, this is only used as an additional tool to my IFS approach, if deemed supportive through our IFS work. I do not do EMDR exclusively or primarily). I am a member of the American Counseling Association + VA Counselors Association.
