Anxiety, Depression + Trauma
When some form of trauma has occurred, it’s not uncommon to see anxiety and depression emerge as symptoms. Unresolved past traumas can contribute to present-day struggles and be quite distressing to navigate without proper support. Perhaps unresolved issues from your past are coming up, contributing to anxiety and depression in the present. Perhaps you’re seeking to heal religious trauma or rejection from your family as you explore your identity. Perhaps you’re seeking to heal an old story about not being liked or good enough.
Our therapeutic relationship can help you develop self-compassion and self-acceptance. We work to equip you with the necessary tools to cope with your anxiety and depression while also healing the underlying root of these symptoms, often related to unresolved trauma..
We live in a patriarchal society that does not readily support the needs of women, the LGBTQIA+ community, and people of color. In our one-on-one sessions, we can also explore how familial influences, socialization, or oppressive societal systems may be reinforcing negative self-perceptions.
